Ghorepani From Poon Hill

 

 

The Ghorepani / Poon Hill / Ghandruk Circuit is another great segment of the Annapurna Circuit that can be done on it’s own as a small trek or combined with the Jomsom Trek. If you were energetic you could cover it in as little as 4 days – I’m lazy and like to enjoy the view so I took a week.
 
Starting off in Pokhara, you get a bus or taxi to the grotty little roadside village of Nayapul. You probably won’t want to hang around here too long – it’s not exactly Nepal’s prettiest village. A 20 minute walk down the river brings you to Birethanti (that you can see here) where the scenery improves dramatically.

From there it’s an uphill walk into the forest and through the villages of Matathanti and Sudame. Along the way, you pass through typically beautiful low-altitude Nepali scenery; lush green rice paddies,

हङकङकमा नेपाली जीवनशैली

हङकङको प्रसिद्ध टापु सेन्ट्रलस्थित १५औं तल्लाको एउटा फ्ल्याटमा नेपाली झन्डा फहराइएको छ । गलैंचा ओछ्याइएको सो कोठाभित्र हट्टाकट्टा व्यक्ति जीवन राई देखिन्छन् । जीवनको भागदौडमा आफ्नो जन्मभूमि नेपाल छोडेर हङकङ आइपुगेका उनी सोही फ्ल्याटका मालिक भएका छन् । तीन वटा बेडरुमसहितको घरमा बस्न पाउँदा उनी आनन्दले प्रफुलित छन् । जीवन भन्छन्- ‘नेपाल छोड्ने बेला समुद्रपारिको यो शहरमा आफ्नै फ्ल्याट होला भन्ने सोचेकै थिइन् ।’ उनले ६० लाख हङकङ डलरमा उक्त फ्ल्याट किनेका हुन् । उनीजस्तै केही नेपालीको आफ्नै फ्ल्याट छ भने धेरै जसो नेपाली बहालमा फ्ल्याट लिएर बसेका छन् । परिवारसहित बस्नेलाई फ्ल्याट नभइनहुने रहेछ उनले भने । २० वर्षजति ब्रिटिस सेनामा सेवा गरेवापत १० वर्षअघि नै सपरिवार हङकङ आएका उनी अहिले नाम, दाम सबै थोक भए पनि आफ्नो विगतको संघर्षमय दिन बिर्सन चाहँदैनन् । केही नेपालीले कार पनि किनेका छन् । उनीहरु आफ्नो काममा जाँदा कारमा हुइँकिन्छन् । करिब एक दशकदेखि हङकङमा बस्दै आएका श्याम राई भन्छन्- ‘यहाँ डलर कमाउन सजिलो छ तर बचाउन गाह्रो । बरु यता अलिअलि बचाएको पैसा नेपाल पठाउन सकियो भने त्यहाँ घर किन्न सक्ने अवस्था हुन्छ l
